Ever hear of a superhero who is just a bit crazy and has wacky adventures? Nope, he’s not Deadpool. He’s Badger. And author Mike Baron created this comic book character years before Deadpool existed. Now Baron is running a crowdfunding campaign so he can bring Badger into the prose world with a full-length novel. (RELATED: Mike Baron Is Writing a Ton of Fiction)

Baron launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for Badger: The Novel on Nov. 20. As of the date of the publication of this post, backers have already pledged nearly $3,000 towards its $9,700 goal. So what’s the novel going to be about? Here’s how the Kickstarter campaign describes it.

In an apocalyptic adventure that turns his world upside down, Badger quits Ham to open his own martial arts studio and befriends legendary blues guitarist Dalton Seaberry. Years ago, Dalton made a deal with the devil. Now the bill has come due, as Badger and Dalton must duel the devil himself.

A kangaroo, a cassowary, and a komodo lizard enter Badger’s dojo, all wanting to fight Badger. A satanic cycle gang called the Vong steal Seaberry’s guitar and form a band using Hendrix’ Strat, Keith Moon’s drums, and Jaco Pastorius’ bass. Ham promotes a Battle of the Bands. Dalton Seaberry versus The Vong, with the fate of the Earth in the balance.
