SpaceX gets one step closer to Mars with spectacular test of Starship. (video)

Hot damn we love it so. SpaceX fired up Starship today in a test flight that was a huge step forward in getting humanity to another planet. Exciting doesn’t really cover it. This is huge! Starship is the biggest, most powerful rocket to ever fly. It’s designed to be fully reusable. It’s big ass beautiful machine that can get us as a species to another Planet. Mars, baby. First the moon, then on to life on Mars. What used to be the stuff of science fiction is much, much closer to reality after today.

Starship flew for over seven minutes and had a successful separation of the booster stage. After that, the ships automatic system kicked in and destroyed the ship. SpaceX engineers now will figure out just what went wrong. “An incredibly successful day, even though we did have a ‘rapid unscheduled disassembly’ both of the Super Heavy booster and the ship,” SpaceX quality engineering manager Kate Tice said on the company’s webcast.

So, was it perfect? Nope. Was it a huge learning experience? Yep. Will these flights just get better and better? We hope so. Elon Musk and SpaceX have a strong track record in the Space flight industry. So, bring on the next test flights of Starship. Let’s go. Let’s improve and get to Mars! In the meantime, we can watch this behemoth called Starship leave the earth on test flights. It’s a wonder to behold.
