The House just voted on FISA. It’s a big deal. Rightfully so. Now FISA is the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. It establishes procedures for the surveillance and collection of foreign intelligence on domestic soil. That’s the Wiki explanation. Here’s the link for that if you want. Here’s what it boils down to: The intelligence community can once again, spy on you without a regular warrant. It’s really a matter of someone pretending it’s a foreign espionage investigation and then they spy on you. You were just ‘accidently’ scooped up in an ‘investigation’. They don’t’ need a regular court. They just go through the FISA court. Whatever the hell that is. Is there oversight on that one? Doesn’t feel like there’s enough. This whole FISA thing feels like it could get corrupted pretty easily. Oh yeah. That’s right. It already is!
But they’d never do that to a political opponent. Oh yeah! That’s right. They did! There were headlines like: Warrants to Spy on Trump Campaign Lacked Probable Cause, DOJ Admits! What a crazy world we live in. Here’s a link to that story too!
Huh. So we know they used FISA to go after political opponents and Americans. Why would they keep this FISA thing going? That’s the question on everyone’s mind today. Why, oh why?
