It’s October, and you know what will be playing often on the radio? The funky Warren Zevon classic “Werewolves of London.”
Some may argue this is the “All I Want for Christmas Is You” for Halloween, but this song I actually don’t get sick of.
However, there are a lot of wonderful tunes that came from this Chicago born multi-talented musician/songwriter, who gave us songs like “Searching for a Heart”:
This month, when you hear the werewolves howling, don’t forget some of Zevon’s other gems, like these:
When Zevon, who often filled in as a backup bandleader on The Late Show with David Letterman, visited the show after his diagnosis with cancer, he reminded people of life’s brevity and said to “enjoy every sandwich.”
Even after he died at age 56 in 2003, these simple words are still important. Love what you have when you have it, and that includes music.
