Gremlins 3. Good call, Warner Bros. This is a no brainer.

We just found out the Warner Brothers has given the greenlight to Gremlins 3. Good call from WB. What’s the downside? Spielberg is producing, Chris Columbus is back as director. What else do you need? And for that matter, what took so long? The first Gremlins movie came out in 1984 with the sequel in 1990.

Quick Gremlins recap: A guy gets his kid an adorable pet from a street market. Things take a crazy turn when a reaction causes mischievous, villainous Gremlins are created. It makes sense. No spoilers!

This sounds like a legal fight over rights or some such nonsense behind the scenes, because another Gremlins movie right around Christmas is a splendid idea. The first Gremlins made quite a bit of cash. Over 150 million. And that’s in 1984 money. Not to mention all the merch! So, good call Warner Bros. Go ahead and greenlight Gremlins 3. The flick is scheduled to have a Nov. 19th, 2027 release.

We’re not sure about the cast yet. There are rumors of Zach Galligan and Pheobe Cates returning, but I’d put my money on cameos only from them. All I know is that the 3 rules of Gremlins will probably still apply:
