Here we go. This week we’re going with the Eagles on Sunday Jams. It’s the band that a lot people have a love/hate relationship with. I understand. For what reasons, some people just wince at the mere mention of these guys. But guess what? They made some great music. Back in the day these guys were a force of nature. Melodys, harmonies, guitar work. The songs are undeniably great and a perfect fit for the occasional lazy Sunday. So, that’s what we’re doing. We’re gonna fire up some classic Eagles for today’s Sunday Jams.
I had an irresistible urge to the listen to this next one. It’s the guitar. Hard to beat the guitar work on this one. That solo? Come one. Hotel California.
Michael, What a fantastic pick for the Sunday Jams. I’ve had my love/hate thing due to my sister playing her Eagles Live album everyday after school. I threatened to frisbee it out the window if I heard “Seven Bridges Road” one more time.
You really have to respect The Eagles vocals, guitar playing and songwriting. They were the 70’s California sound. You picked some fantastic songs to highlight. New Kid In Town is my favorite Eagles song. You had to include Hotel California just because of the guitar work and the solo that everyone knows. One of These Nights,a great song. Always appreciate your choices in music. Thanks Michael!
HA! My oldest brother was a nut for the Eagles back in the day. They did make some great songs though. Just needed a loooong break from them I guess.
