Were We Wrong About ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League?’ Maybe.

Nothing would make me happier than to have to eat a giant plate of crow over my early thoughts about Zack Snyder’s Justice League. I’d be delighted if the Snyder cut could breathe new life into the DC franchise.

Here’s what we know so far. There is a shit ton of footage that Snyder shot that wasn’t used in the theatrical release. Zack had his version of the film about 75% done when he had to walk away. Joss Whedon came in and did a rewrite on the script and extensive reshoots. Key word being extensive. We were blown away by just how extensive those reshoots were. There’s a boatload of unseen Snyder footage! That’s great news.

The Snyder cut is going to be a very different film. That’s fan-fucking-tastic news. Can it save the franchise? Doubtful. Will it be fun to watch? Sounds like it. Will it frustrate the hell out of fans? Yup. But, who knows? Maybe this will be the kick in the chicklets that WB and DC need to actually come up with a plan for the DC universe. Instead of having this, “Throw a bunch of crap against the wall and see what sticks,” mentality.

Here’s the trailer for Zach Snyder’s Justice League.
