Last Look at ‘Loki’ before Premier. Some Worries Too.

Here’s your last look at Loki before the series premiers on Disney + (Plus?) tomorrow. Now that we’ve seen this clip we have some concerns. I’ll try to be brief.

I had high hopes for this show. Tom Hiddleston is just fantastic in this role. He steals almost every scene he’s in. Dude just crushes it. But he’s not superhuman. Like, in real life. He’s just one actor. A scene can’t exist on Hiddleston charm alone.

Take the clip we just watched for example. We figure this could be close to the opening of the show. Loki in the desert, planning his next move. And who decides to show up? The time cops. Lead by a really questionable casting call. Who is that playing the leader of time cops? That was…not the best performance…. Let’s just say that.

Was it supposed to be like that? Is that the joke to the scene? Loki is confronted by a community theater time cop? This casting reeks of someone doing a friend a favor. That doesn’t bode well. Marvel and Disney Plus (+?) should make sure they have a hit show before they start giving away walk-on roles. Or maybe it’s just a really shitty bit of casting. Either way…it’s worrisome.

Hopefully I’m making a mountain out of a molehill. Really want Loki to do well. But now we got a worried mind. Guess we’ll all find out tomorrow. (That green screen work is weak sauce too. Just sayin’.)

He’s great! And what a fantastic character. The scenes with Hiddleston and Owens look like they’ll be perfecto too. But that time cop? Stinka!
