‘Snake Eyes’ Trailer: 1st Look at Next G.I. Joe Movie

On June 21, Paramount Pictures released the first trailer for Snake Eyes, the next movie of the G.I. Joe franchise.

The trailer is packed with action. It also shows characters that fans of the Hasbro toys and cartoon will instantly recognize. Of course, some fans aren’t happy with the casting of the title character. How will that impact the box office? We shall see.

As for me, I don’t have an opinion on the casting of the title character, or any of the other characters. Just like I don’t have an opinion on the forthcoming movie. I was never into G.I. Joe–not the toys and not the cartoon. Never had any interest in the previous live-action films either. It’s also why I chose a screenshot of the Baroness (whose name I didn’t even know until I looked it up) for the header image of this post instead of Snake Eyes.

I’m not taking any shots at the movie or G.I. Joe. Just stating the truth. And to show this post is all just lighthearted fun, let me say this about the Baroness: I hope those spectacles she’s wearing are on the Authorized Protective Eyewear List (APEL), or other such list of whatever organization she works for.

But the trailer and movie are sure to generate talking. Paramount will certainly be happy about that. And Paramount will certainly be hoping that the talking spurs audiences into spending moolah to see Snake Eyes when it opens on July 23.

I dig it. This one has “Can’t wait till this comes out on HBO” written all over it.
