As per usually, it’s getting bitchy again in the Twitter world, but sometimes we just need a few laughs. Thankfully, there are some feeds that you won’t regret following if you need a daily dose of smirks, smiles, and happy retweet potential. Here are some individuals who will bring you some fresh, and sometimes opinionated perspectives on their own little corner of the world (whichever world that may be):
Myrna Tellingheusen (@PearlsFromMyrna)
Mr. Stanley Bogenshoots’s retired executive secretary loves God and tweeting. Whether it’s her constant confounding views of her nephew Lyle, or her tough love comments directed towards her friends, you know Myrna isn’t going to hold her tongue when she has something to say about fashion, food, or the inability to properly clean a house.
Johnny Lawrence (@Sensei_JohnnyLa)
Remember Emo Kylo Ren? Well, Johnny is here to kick his Hop Topic-wearing ass. There are actually two “Johnny Lawrence” feeds to follow. The first one at @CobraKai_Sensei has been around since 2018, and links to the Cobra Kai Store, but the newer one @Sensei_JohnnyLa has been building up followers pretty fast as well with some bad ass zingers. Which one should you follow? The newer account is higher on the laugh factor (not to mention gratuitous “hashbrown,” but go ahead and follow both. You can never have too much Eagle Fang.
Wayne The Covid Marshal (@CovidMarshall)
Okay, this one may be a little topical, but in times of distress during this harsh “winter of death” it is good to know across the pond in Great Britain Wayne is out there keeping us all safe and compliant. If you need to know what to do or not to do, Wayne will take care of you…or fine you if necessary. To make sure the “misinformation” doesn’t spread, you can also find him under the same handle on Gettr.
Watch out, however, because the dreaded ever-sniffly Omicron variant has now penetrated social media with its own feed @Omicronald:
Super 70s Sports (Super70sSports)
I was hesitant to include this one at first, because there’s a very good likelihood you already follow it. This feed will more than 500,000 happy followers strong who want to eschew the PC crap and remember a time when things were just a little bit cooler…and tackier. Created by Ricky Cobb who is also behind a successful podcast and merch site. Sports Illustrated even called this a “must follow” Twitter feed, but really it’s much cooler than Sports Illustrated is today.
I know social media can be depressing, and Twitter an explosion of outrage, but it is always comforting to know there are those out there making life a little sillier, one tweet at a time.
