Ouch: Dozens of Wind turbines in Scotland need Diesel and are leaking Hydraulic fluid at alarming rates.

This just in: Wind Turbines aren’t magic! I’ll be upfront and honest with you. I don’t like these giant wind turbines. Not one little bit. If you want to harness wind power? Fantastic. These things are not the answer. Do they kill tons of wildlife? Yup. Is it almost impossible to recycle the components when they break? Yup. Now we find out that dozens of wind turbines in Scotland have problems galore! Over a thousand gallons of hydraulic were sprayed by the turbines over the countryside and get this quote from a whistleblower at the turbine company “During December 60 turbines at Arecleoch and 11 at Glenn App were de-energised due to a cabling fault… In order to get these turbines re-energised diesel generators were running for upwards of six hours a day,” What in the hell?

The full article can be read here. Bottom line? These Turbines don’t seem to be the answer everyone is looking for, in my opinion. Let’s fire up the traditional power plants and let research and development do its thing. Maybe find a wind turbine capable of not killing wildlife and need diesel? Just a thought.
