Once upon a time there was a band called The Pretenders. Their first studio album was the stuff of legend. So damn good you knew they were going places. The songs had edge and melody. That is a very rare thing indeed. Many try and many fail. But The Pretenders seemed to do it all naturally. Sadly, that edge they had seemed to disappear completely after their second album. Sad.
