They say: “Never let a crisis go to waste.” We think that probably holds true for news stories that capture a nations attention as well. Never let those go to waste either. While news outlets and pundits were focused on Balloons and Ukraine and whatever else seemed important at the time, some very bad things were happening in DC. (The spy balloon was kind of a big deal. Just saying.) However, giant policy changes and new taxes are also quite newsworthy. Here’s a couple news stories out of DC that somehow got missed by most of the media. There are some real doozies in here.

Here’s a list of all the new taxes that just went into effect. A natural gas tax. Crude oil tax. Coal tax. A new tax on Stock. If you’re energy bills just went bonkers, and your 401k just got kicked in the nuts? We think we have an idea why. Here’s a link to all the new taxes affecting Americans.

Just a heads up. Biden signed another Executive Order. This one is all about ‘Racial Equity’. It calls on federal agencies to build “agency equity teams” and create senior leadership positions that will be held accountable for carrying out the order. Those teams will be involved in carrying out another requirement to improve efforts to reach out to “impacted communities.” This feels the federal government taking a giant leap away from hiring the most qualified person for a job and instead, making decisions based on the color of someone’s skin. Which is a wildy unamerican notion. Here’s more on that story.
