Why do I say The Mandalorian season 3 finale with be disappointing? There are a few factors at play here. I’ve watched the show. I love Star Wars. And I’ve worked in television. Most importantly, I’ve watched the show. It’s bad. There’s no other way to put it, really. And to make matters worse, the writers and producers know it’s bad, but they don’t know why. If they knew WHY the show sucked, they would have fixed it by now. But season 3 was yet another series of wacky side-quests, comedic cameos and characters that do whatever the need to do in order to make a thing happen because some moron thought it would look cool. So, why would The Mandalorian stop being shit now, for the season finale? Spoiler: They won’t. Hardcore galactic Bounty hunters will continue to be high functioning idiots until they’re not. Mandalorians will continue to be toughest people in the galaxy until the script has them do something idiotic. Sets will look like Disney Channel backlots until the action moves to space. Characters will continue to say EXACTLY what they’re thinking. Tough guys will turn into morons so they can be saved by strong women. And villains will show up in the 3rd act. Yup. The Mandalorian is a giant disappointment. Why stop now?
