Damn, I loved this clip. So much truth in this one about Hollywood, the movies, the studios. All of it. This is a segment of Jon Bernthal’s podcast REAL ONES, ‘Suicide Squad’ director tells the story of how things on the movie went sideways. And simultaneously rips the mask off and exposes the real Hollywood.

If you are considering a career in Hollywood, this is video I recommend you watch. This is some fucking truth right here. David Ayers was coming off the success of the movie ‘Fury’. He was directing ‘Suicide Squad.’ He should have been on top of the world, right? Nope. Not ever close. Here’s why: Nobody in the movie business actually cared. Not one little bit. They didn’t care that he created (and got screwed out of any ownership of) The Fast and The Furious. They didn’t care about any of his past successes. And when he opted out the bullshit gladhanding and dinner meetings and ass kissing, he was infinitely replaceable. End of story. It’s a harsh lesson in reality. Especially worth noting is host Jon Bernthals confusion about the matter. Everyone thinks ‘big’ Hollywood directors have it made in the shade. They don’t. They are cattle now, just like the actors and the writers in feature films. Almost everything coming out of Hollywood now is brought to you by a ‘woke’ committee of talentless idiots. They are the gatekeepers. They find the money. They love the meetings with HR. They love the lunches and the phone calls about nothing of consequence. The only thing they don’t love is the movies.
