Sunday Jams: The Rose

It’s likely you have heard this ridiculously catchy try-not-to-jam-out indie rock songs, but you might not know who is behind it. It’s The Rose!

About seven years ago four Korea-based indie rockers, three who started out busking in Hongdae, released a beautiful tune called “Sorry” that became one of their country’s biggest pop hits in 2017:

Since then, these guys have been working their butts off to build a following, and create their on musical style. Even though they hail primarily from Korea (vocalist and electric guitarist Woosung is a Los Angeles-born Korean American), they are not K-Pop. They are solid, straight forward indie rock. Their second full album Duel features at least four huge breakout songs, including “Back to Me” and its follow up, “Alive”.

They already have a massive fan base, and are in the middle of a North American Tour. Their sound is getting so much attention, there’s nowhere to go but up. If you haven’t yet discovered the The Rose, you’re in for a treat.
