Work hard. Rock Hard. Eat hard. Sleep hard. Grow big…wear glasses if you need ’em.!
That’s the credo of Nashville country, rockabilly, bluesy and folksy sounds of Webb Wilder. Wilder released his first album It Came from Nashville in 1986, and he has maintained a cult status and continual output of groovy sounds ever since.
He and his band, The Beatnecks, never really broke mainstream with his biggest hit being on the Australian charts in 1990 with “Human Cannonball.”
He’s 69 now and still crankin’ out songs, but his sounds from the late 80s and early 90s on his albums Hybrid Vigor and Doo Dad and are still really standouts. If you want the feeling of watching a B-movie while sitting in a honky-tonk in outer space, you can’t go wrong with Webb Wilder and his guitar.
