What a day it is on X. Hugely important news stories are popping up left and right. All of them worth your time and attention. January 6th, Hunter Biden and Dr. Fauci stories that are just wild. All of them have one thing in common: Storytelling. Or setting a narrative, if you want to call it that. Now storytelling is important because that’s how human beings relate things. It’s how we process and share information. You hear a piece of important news and can’t wait to tell your friends, co-workers etc. Whatever piece of news you share instantly becomes a story you tell. Tada!
So, if you know this is going to be the case, it’s in your best interest to control the story. Throw out some key words that people can latch onto. That is what controlling the narrative is. If you can get enough people on board, the facts don’t matter anymore. The story is much more powerful. If someone wants to control the way you think, they need to set and control the narrative. The story.
Today on X, the site is popping with some startling stories and reports of narratives and the people who were (and still are) desperate to control them. For instance, who was talking about a ‘coup attempt’ before Jan 6th? That seems odd. Check out this link to Michael Shellenberger’s post.
And Hunter Biden certainly knows enough to try to control the narrative. That’s why he went to congress yesterday. Not to testify. Dude was getting footage for his new documentary.
And lastly, we were all told to maintain 6 feet of social distancing for science. But what if they just made that up? Just made up a number and had everyone ‘follow the science’. I guess they knew that would sound better than “We just invented some shit… go with it.”
