We came across a new title that looks like it’ll be a fun one to play. Sand Land. Check out the video. Looks like a good time. Sand Land is based on the Manga of the same name. Set in a world where water is insanely scarce, Sand Land looks like a Mad Max but in Anime. We’re cool with all of that. Here’s where it kinda gets weird though. What’s up with all the demon stuff lately? It seems to be popping up all over the place. Even in Sand Land.

The hero in Sand Land is Beelzebub… and yeah, his dad is Lucifer…. huh. That’s a bit odd. But we can let it slide. Demons in video games ain’t anything new. It’s the kid ‘friendly’ demons were talking about here that strikes us as odd. And yeah, the more you think about it, the stranger it all gets. Let’s not overlook 2022’s “The Cult of the Lamb”. That’s an odd game to think about. Here’s the plot of that one: In a land of false prophets, The Lamb (nicknamed Lambert), supposedly the last of their kind, is brought before The Four Bishops of the Old Faith and is sacrificed before them. Upon dying, The Lamb is brought before “The One Who Waits”, a strange deity who is imprisoned in chains. The One Who Waits tasks The Lamb with starting a cult in its name, gives The Lamb a demonic crown, then resurrects it.

Sure… okay. Maybe it’s all meant to grab your attention, or to make headlines. Here I am, writing about it. LOL! Just wanted to go on record as saying the friendly demon stuff is all a bit odd. Here’s some video on Sand Land. It looks really fun! The game comes out April 26, 2024, on most systems.
