Study: Electric Vehicles worse for environment than gas powered cars. What the heck?

We had to post this one. Here’s a story from the New York Post on a study that concluded that: Electric vehicles release more toxic emissions, are worse for the environment than gas-powered cars. Ouch. That’s gotta hurt. We know that EV sales haven’t been red-hot. Even with all the incentives from the government to buy them, EV’s aren’t flying of the lots. And if you asl me? There’s lots of reasons for that. The price is still crazy high. You can’t travel as far in an EV as you can in a gas vehicle. If you damage the battery (Like a fender bender) the cost to replace the battery is insane. Now comes this story about the environmental issues. (We won’t mention the insanely horrible conditions involved with mining lithium and other metals) The study in this piece is about the particles from the brake and the tires. When you stop your car, … ‘It found that brakes and tires on EVs release 1,850 times more particle pollution compared to modern tailpipes, which have “efficient” exhaust filters, bringing gas-powered vehicles’ emissions to new lows.’

Here’s a link to the story plus some tasty reactions from people on X.
