Sunday Jams: MIYAVI

Just to fill you in, a Japanese band called Dué le quartz formed in 1999, and its standout guitarist, MIYAVI, went solo in 2002.

Since then, MIYAVI has been part of super groups, appeared in movies and television, founded his own music company, and has taken his tours all around the world. He has collaborated with artists of a number of genres, done anime themes and even performed The National Anthem at a Dodgers game, among many other achievements. He is known by fans as the “Samurai Guitarist” and plays like he was born with that instrument in his hands:

He can perform anything from blues to metal on both acoustic and electric, and in 2020,released a wailing live studio recording of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”.

Really, nothing I can say can match just listening to him, so if you’re ready to rock some more, here’s MIYAVI for this week’s Sunday Jams:

Wherever you are in the world today, or whatever style you’re into, hope you enjoyed this time to get your groove on with MIYAVI.
