The more I learn about the Nosferatu movie, the more I like. Check out the trailer and we’ll talk. This could be something really fun to watch. I’ll explain after the trailer.

Okay, let’s go. Let’s jump into the trailer breakdown. Or rather the bigger picture breakdown. The cast is top notch, so zero worries there. And director Robert Eggers has the creepy gothic thing down. The footage looks fantastic and creepy. Nice work DP and Art Dept peeps. Chefs kiss. Now let get to what has me jazzed about Nosferatu. This seems like a mash up of Bram Stoker and the German flick, Nosferatu. With Nosferatu being the incredibly terrifying silent movie from 1922 with Count Orlok. If you haven’t seen that one? You gotta watch. It’s the German version of Dracula and it’s something to behold.

So, the usual Hollywood take is to do Dracula as the forbidden sexual fantasy. With Count Dracula being (at some point) a leading man. That’s fine! There are some good versions of Dracula out there. However, the idea of a bloodsucking, monster like Nosferatu being obsessed with a girl in the 1800’s and killing everything that gets in its way is fantastic. It’s the stalker from hell. For real. Great idea for a movie/remake. It was good when the Germans did it in 1922 and its really good now. Great call Robert Eggers. Nosferatu could be an actual scary vampire move. Nosferatu hits theaters Dec 25.
