Secret Service Director takes her turn in the hot seat. Will anything change? We have highlights. (video)

The Secret Service director, Kimberly Cheatle showed up for a congressional committee meeting today. She was sworn in and all that wonderful stuff. After the failed attempt on Trump’s life, it was the Secret Service Directors turn in the hot seat. Questions were asked. Questions were evaded. Dispersions were cast. Copious amount of water was consumed. Posts went out about people ‘destroying’ and ‘ending’. But will anything happen? Did we get any answers? Will anything come of this testimony from Cheatle?

You’ve probably noticed the same disturbing trend over the years that we have. Something bad happens, Congress calls someone to testify, and nothing happens. It’s usually about files or taxes or some boring shit. Now, though, these little bits of DC theater need to actually matter. It’s not enough just to get your video footage for you next election campaign. Things are getting serious. Lives are at matter.

It’s one thing to chastise the head of the IRS, (Lois Lerner, anyone?) for targeting groups based on their politics. Now we’re onto Covid territory. Lots of dead people. Fauci having to testify that mistakes may have been made, isn’t going to cut it. Now we have the Secret Service director doing the same song and dance. “I can’t speak to that”. “We need to evaluate our training”. Responses like that don’t cut it. The favored nominee for President was shot. Too many people benefit from him not being in the race. It looks shady as all hell. So, no. Committees and sound bites aren’t going to cut it. The tweets are one thing. We need change. Actual. Change.

Destroyed…

This is actually important.

So, Cheatle takes her turn in the hot seat. Calls are made for her to resign. Then what? Who replaces her? Is it the same level of ‘incompetence’? Who will be next to hop on the bureaucratic gravy train and then eventually fail? Only to have to face one uncomfortable day in front of Congress. This is all completely unacceptable, and someone is going to get hurt. Or worse.
