It’s the picture that dominated the internet the other day. Joe Biden wearing a Trump hat. Just a few weeks before the election. So, why would Joe put on Trump 2024 hat in room full of cameras? We have a few ideas.

Okay, while many are attributing this moment as Joe’s revenge for being thrown under the bus by the Dem party and kicked off the ticket, I’m just not feeling that one. Joe and his family are still in the legal hotseat. Hunter just plead guilty to tax charges and Joe is going to want all the help he can get in the not-too-distant future. I fully believe that back-room deals were made before Joe got the boot from the ticket and he wouldn’t want to jeopardize any calvary that is lined up to charge in and save the Biden family.

Here’s what I think happened: Joe reverted to politician mode. It’s his default setting. He might forget a lot of other things, but at his core, he’s a politician. He has been successfully running for office since the early 1970’s.

Once upon a time, Joe could pull off these ‘Aw shucks’ moments around the clock. Now? Not so much. But every once in a while, you see a glimmer of the professional candidate swagger. That’s what I believe this moment is. Joe takes that hat and puts in on his head with the perfect amount of charm. It was a nice moment. Not going to lie. There is a reason Joe has been around as long as he has. Getting paid big bucks from the taxpayer for decades of failure: He is a pro at this. He might not have 24-hour charm anymore, but in this one brief moment, he clicked back into the professional candidate mode that kept him in DC for decades.
