Last night we all found out that NYC Mayor Eric Adams had been indicted by a grand jury. Now we know the charges. They include corruption, bribery and wire fraud. The internet was quick on the buzzer with a slew of ‘hot takes’ as per usual. Everyone had a theory as to what was ‘really’ going on. To be honest, that’s where we find ourselves today. That, to me is the worst part of the Eric Adams story. We as a nation want to know what’s ‘really going on’. What does that say about our legal system? And about what we are putting up with.
The Mayor of NYC was brought up on charges of being corrupt. Big time. And we as a society are either not surprised, or wondering who Eric Adams got in trouble with to get himself in legal trouble. Hint: It should be clear cut. This should be a no-brainer. The fact that so many people are wondering what the real story is, highlights a much bigger issue: Without equal application of the law, we are screwed. As a society. Do you follow me? We can’t just pick where we want to apply the law. That won’t work out well.
