This is enraging. It makes your blood boil. The situation with all of the communities struggling in the aftermath of hurricane Helene just took another horrible turn as we hear reports that FEMA is ‘out of money’. We really hope this isn’t the case. That would be beyond infuriating. Maybe even criminal.
Call me a cynic, but I wouldn’t be surprised if FEMA did really run out of money. This would be par for the course for a giant federal agency. You mismanage the funds that you do have and run out. Then at the next budget meeting you ask for more money using the lack of funds as proof that you need more. It’s insane, but that is what they do. But all that needs to be put on the backburner for now. Americans need real help, and the Feds aren’t going to step up. So, it’s up to Americans. As usual.
The situation on the ground appears to be nothing short of insane. Fortunately, rumors of confiscations appear to be unfounded.
However, it’s a total shit show. And as emotions run high and people become rightfully enraged, we can harness that energy to hold these idiots accountable down the road. At this moment, a coordinated relief effort from Americans and for Americans is needed. We are suggesting Samaritan’s Purse. They have the boots on the ground and the experience with disaster relief.
