We’re looking around the gaming world with a new sense of hope. Dragon Age: The Veilguard is falling off a cliff as all the chatter is about Stellar Blade. That is a healthy sign for gaming. Am I rooting for so-called ‘woke’ games like Dragon Age to fail? Yup. You bet. I don’t want my fantasy game to be infected with modern politics. And if game developers are too dumb to make a new game that reflects the politics they want to inject? Then they deserve to fail. The need to fail.
Don’t take a beloved property and ruin it. Make your own new game and have all the politics and messaging you want! Have a blast! I wish you nothing but the best. Until then, I will take great delight in headlines that announce more people are playing Baldur’s Gate than Dragon Age.
