This week I had just finished up the final season of the series Cobra Kai, but was particularly pumped at the Johnny Lawrence’s triumphant re-entrance into the arena to one of the greatest hard rock songs ever recorded, AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck:”
A couple of days later, I get in the car to run some boring errands, and another one of the greatest hard rock songs ever recorded starts up: AC/DC’s “Shook Me All Night Long”.
It seems the rock gods have spoken. AC/DC needed to enter our Sunday Jams this weekend. Whether it was their early sounds in the late 70s with late lead singer Bon Scott, or the powerhouse 80s and beyond with the falsetto king Brian Johnson, the metal, blues, and good old rock n’ roll of this Aussie band is still keeping those fists pumping and heads banging. This April, they are kicking off their first North American Tour in nine years, “Power Up”.
My apologies for not just dropping an entire album in this post, because everything the did was pure rock gold!
When AC/DC performed in my hometown’s old concert venues in the 80s, I heard rumors they rolled out these massive cannons during “For Those About to Rock”…which were too big for the venue and went though the ceiling. Once they went “BOOM,” small pieces of roof fell on folks but the rock party kept going. I didn’t get to go to this show, but if all the stories I heard were true, it was epic. Yes, AC/DC, you’re still rocking and bringing the Jams…and WEEEEE Salute You!
