Legacy media shows more signs of its demise with Lester Holt announcing his departure from NBC Nightly News. He’s just the latest anchor to be made aware of the door. Mainstream media has been losing people left and right recently. What is going on here? Money. Lack of money would be my guess. With no signs of any new revenue on the horizon.
We’ll take a look at the bigger picture and discuss what is up with Lester Holt saying adios to the Anchor gig and who’s next in line over at NBC. First up? What’s the bigger picture here? It’s hard to disagree with Steve Bannon’s take, but there’s more factors to consider.
The MSM will point to the internet as the culprit. That’s partly true as well. People ARE on their phones, getting news from other outlets. That is happening. Legacy Media just lost their audience faster they thought. It’s the obvious bias in the reporting. It looks like news. It sounds like news. But now, after years and years, people now are aware of the harsh reality: It’s BS. That is a brand killer. That is the end of legacy media and high paid anchors. Jim Acosta, Joy Reid, Chuck Todd and now Lester Holt. It will keep going.
Lester Holt reportedly made 10 million a year. NBC has Tom Llamas waiting in the wings and supposedly he’s only getting 2.5. Tada!

All across the board at Legacy Media, the anchors are looking at a harsh reality: Get less money or there’s the door. The irony is pretty awesome. Report on the reality you choose only to have legit reality bite you in the ass. Legacy Media could slow the descent into oblivion by going back to straight news, but we shouldn’t hold out breath. So much damage has already been done. Hope they all enjoyed the ride.
