Last night the Oscars were handed out in Los Angeles. Yes, the show that so many love to say they didn’t watch, happened. Again. We didn’t watch over here either. Not for some kind of boycott or anything, no, we didn’t watch the Oscars because it felt like it was going to be lame. Again. Sadly, it looks like I made a good call. Again. Who knows, maybe the Oscars could move the show to the Pacific Palisades? Not sure when they could make the move though. There’s lots of concern about stolen land.
The acknowledgement is a start. A start of what though, remains to be seen. Maybe the Oscars will give the Palisades a shout out in the not-too-distant future. LA does have big plans when it comes to cities of the future. LA is going to be a smart city by 2028! they better hustle if they want all this done in time for the Olympics!
Gee whiz, I wonder where all this smart city stuff will go? Hopefully they won’t forget about the Oscars. The awards will need to be considered in all of this smart city stuff. Let’s not forget what’s important here: Awards for movies. Movies with diversity. Who cares about story or story telling? That’s not how the Oscars work.
Now, if you’re worried that there wouldn’t be enough politics, calm down. There was plenty of that.
We can only hope that the fine tradition of politics and DEI requirements continue in the Smart City Oscars of the Palisades. It will be a herculean balancing act, but we think they can do it!
There can still be glitz and glamour. California just needs to make sure the Palisades are ready for the “smart” Oscars of the future. The mayor is on top of things! And let’s not forget Gavin Newsom’s podcast. Rest assured, Cali. They have your best interests at heart.
Before we start the countdown to Smart LA Oscars, let’s take a look at some of the fashion from last night. There was so much, my head is still all a tizzy.
