Elon Musk has a plan for going to Mars. Right now, it sounds a little light on the details, but hey! How much info can you put in a post on X? Anyway, here’s my reaction to Elon’s Mars plan: Go for it. Hell, yes. It’s totally worth it.
In theory? The Mars idea seems solid. Send up some robots to do as much of the work as possible to get the site ready for humans. That would make sense. It would be interesting to see how much Optimus would be able to do. I’m assuming you’d need a team of those things by the way.
Here’s what Optimus can kind of do as of now. Who knows what it could potentially do in the near future.
In terms of plans though? As loosey goosey as it sounds? I’m into it. Let’s go to Mars! Slap some robots in a SpaceX Starship with some construction supplies. Send them ahead and let them set up a base (as much as they can) and we’ll doing humans later.
Here’s the exciting part: We are really discussing this. This is all within the realm of possibility. Starship is real. Catching the boosters and reusing them is very real. Now it’s about fine tuning. Yes, the devil is always in the details, but hot damn. Mars isn’t just a crazy pipe dream. We could actually do this. That’s exciting as all get out!
