A live action Jetsons movie? Simple. Here’s how.

Yes. That picture is kind of click bait adjacent, but I wanted you to read the post. And booty is highly clickable. This isn’t a post about an adult parody though. It’s about solving an adaptation issue. For years Hollywood has wanted to do a live action movie or show about The Jetsons. The big issue always seemed to be that most of the tech in the Jetsons cartoon was pretty much available now. All the gadgets weren’t that impressive. Writer and producers in Hollywood would lament the fact that The Jetsons was just lying there. A useless piece of intellectual property.

In 2017, ABC ordered a pilot for a live-action sitcom version of “The Jetsons,” written by Gary Janetti and executive produced by Janetti, Jack Rapke, and Robert Zemeckis. That project never saw the light of day. I didn’t read the script so, I can’t really comment on it.

I can, however, celebrate this spin from a creator on YouTube. This would work. Do The Jetsons as a period piece. A live action adaptation from the perspective of the 1950’s. Kind of like what they did with the latest Fantastic Four movie. A live action Jetsons would be a lot of fun that way. An endless supply of fun gizmos and futuristic gadgets. Somebody give me a raise. This version of a live action Jetsons movie would be a blast. I’d watch.

Now here’s The Fantastic Four trailer. Similar vibe.
