Nice try, Losers!

They gave it a good shot. Nice try losers. In world of setting narratives and talking points they really tried to shift the discussion away from doge and onto Tesla and Elon Musk. For a couple days it almost worked. Guess what though? We’re still stuck on doge. There’s just something about our money getting thrown into other people pockets that get us focused. Writer and comedian Michael Loftus of The Loftus Party digs into all of the above. Somebody really wants to move on but we don’t. Thanks for being here!

That $2.7 trillion headline you showed is false; that report was not exclusively about Medicare/Medicaid payments overseas and was published last year under the Biden administration. Does this mean you’re pro-Biden now?

Not even close but thanks for playing. But for the sake of lively debate: What was Biden’s plan to get that money back? If letting trillions of dollars to be wasted was anyone’s idea of oversight, that’s just straight up crazy. Sounds like you’re on team Trump/doge! Welcome aboard!

I’m absolutely in favor of any administration identifying fraud/waste and eliminating it. Therefore, it’s concerning when the person in charge of doing so claims that they discovered fraud when they didn’t and claims that it was in a specific area when it wasn’t. It makes me think that the person claiming to want government efficiency either doesn’t know what they’re talking about or is actively misleading the public.

That seems to be what people are talking about now: The difference between ‘fraud’ and ‘improper payments’. Which frankly is a word game I’m not interested in. If money from Social Security and Medicaid is mispent/stolen/lost/wasted I want it back. I also want total reform of the ‘watchdogs’ who allowed it to happen in the first place. I’m seeing headline that are saying 1.1 Trillion in waste/fruad… Is that a smeller number than 2.7 trillion? Yes. But it’s still a shit of OUR money! I’m not cool with it being stolen from me and given to strangers.

I am also against both fraud and improper payments, but I am also in favor of government leaders having a clue what they’re talking about. Elon said that DOGE discovered $2.7 trillion in improper Medicare/Medicaid payments made overseas. There is no evidence that this money was paid overseas, that it was for Medicare/Medicaid, and these payments were not discovered by DOGE. How is Elon supposed to be the one to get rid of fraud if he barely knows what he’s saying most of the time?
