Today and all female crew went into space. Historic? Probably. I honestly dug it. So, what happened? Jeff Bezos has a rocket company; Blue Origins and they launched a vehicle into space for 11 minutes. On board were Katy Perry, Lauren Sanchez, Gail King, Amanda Nguyen, Aisha Bowe, & Kerianne Flynn. That’s right, it was all females on this rocket. How about them apples? The Blue Origin flight went well, and as far as we can tell the ladies did everything the set out to do and more. There was glam, singing and even putting the ass into astronaut. Good times.
Katy Perry knew the significance of the moment saying in an interview: “If I could take glam up with me, I would do that. We are going to put the ‘ass’ in astronaut.” You did it. You knew the risks and you took the ride. Katy Perry even sang! She sang Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” during the historic flight rather than one of her own songs to celebrate humanity.
“I think that is not about me. It’s not about singing my songs. It’s about a collective energy in there. It’s about us,” she said. Whew! That was close. Good call, Katy!
In all seriousness, this may have been nothing more than an expensive bit of space tourism, but guess what? I’m cool with that. Keep going! Longer flights! How about a lunar hotel? Again: Not joking. If this pushes humanity into becoming multi planetary just a little bit quicker? Launch everyone who wants to pay to go.
Hey, Jeff Bezos, maybe next time let the lady crew drive.
