This should be the golden age of Comic Book movies but all we get is heartache. It’s so boring and predictable at this point. Really a drag. Here’s the new trailer for Disney Marvel’s Fantastic Four. Just know that I’m shrugging my shoulders and rolling my eyes as much as humanly possible. Was I holding out a shred of hope for Fantastic Four? Sure. Am I now? After watching this latest trailer? Nope.
I was thinking about going to the theater for this one, but I don’t think the wait will be long before it’s streaming. That’ll be the plan. So, here’s my 2 cents as a writer: The art department kicks ass. The look of the Fantastic Four movie looks incredible. Well done! Beyond that? Why is every character so ‘blah?’ It’s like everyone is bored in this clip. Are they all going to be this flat in the movie? And Sue Storm is preggo? Wow. Neat. Hey! The Silver Surfer is a woman… I wonder if she’s ever wanted to have a baby. I wonder if maybe these two gals might have a little something in common? Hmmm….
It all just looks so predictable and boring. I’ll pass. It’s a shame. With CGI and all the hard work from the art dept. The Fantastic Four: First Steps could have been a big screen experience. Instead. It looks like more of the same crap from Disney Marvel. Sad. It’s as if they WANT to fail at this point. The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theaters on July 25. No word on streaming yet.
And then there’s the woke… the inevitable woke we always get from Disney Marvel.
