Due Process. Let’s discuss that for a bit. Lots of talk in the news about defending people’s due process. Senators are taking field trips to foreign lands and talking endlessly about the law! We’re told this isn’t about Illegal Aliens, Gangs or violent acts. It’s about basic human rights? Due process!
And I should apologize for even bringing gangs or illegally entering the country. My bad. We should refer to this case as simply, Maryland Man. Although it might get confusing. There’s a new ‘Maryland Man’ in the news.
But what can you do, really? We’re told that this is about the law! The law and due process is the most important thing! …Until it’s not. Dems seem to be really fickle about their defense of due process. I seem to remember a lot of folks being locked up recently… without a whole bunch of due process.
That’s where we run into problems. It would seem the Dems who are now screaming about due process give about zero shits when it’s people they don’t like getting thrown in jail. But we’re all in favor of the law! Let’s go. Maybe we set up speed courts on the border? Or maybe there’s no statute of limitations on the crime of breaking into America? Because we’re going to have a bit of a backlog on the ol’ court hearings. There’s going to be a lot of cases.
In 2018 Yale estimated there were 22 million Illegals. And that was before Biden threw the door open for millions more! Over 7 million.
So, we have a bit of a problem here. Close to 30 million people who aren’t supposed to be here. Senators getting video for campaign ads where they demand Due Process while turning a blind eye when the legal system is abused. It’s almost like it’s an act! What? So, here’s my first try at a solution.
Yes, this is America. We need to defend the rule of law and due process. And no, you can’t just overwhelm the system. So how about this? If you’re here illegally, you get nothing. Zero benefits. Zero government handouts or help. Other than an attorney to represent you in court. That’s it. Your only hope for any kind of life in America is if you came in through the proper process.
No temporary anything. No driver’s license. No debit cards. No free housing. No nothing other than a lawyer.
We need to make the idea of getting caught sneaking into the country completely unappealing. For those who come in through legal means? Welcome aboard! Hope you love it here! But if you sneek in? That’s going to be a bummer, and you still have to go home. So, let’s steer into due process! Defend the rule of law! Now we better get started, looks like we have 30 million cases to hear!
