Let’s take a moment out of our busy days to talk Predator movies. There’s six of these films in the franchise and here comes number seven. Predator: Badlands. And take a look at what they have done to the Predator. They made him the hero! Complete with a hero makeover. Good for them.
I say them, because I don’t know who was behind the hero predator redesign and I’m too lazy to look it up. It’s the right call. Do a movie where the Predator is the good guy. It’ll at least get people talking about this franchise that is barely hanging on. It works as a marketing strategy and for old school fans, we’ll look forward to pretty boy predator getting his ass kicked in the next movie by an OG mean looking Predator. So, it’s a win-win for the studio and the franchise. There’s just one catch: People need to buy tickets for Predator: Badlands. Will they? We’ll all find out on November 7 when the movie comes out.
And if the hero predator look ‘works’ for audiences? I expect the studio to figure out a way for those crab claws on his face to disappear real quick too. We’ll be looking at Tom Cruise wearing dreadlocks in Predator: Impossible soon. LOL!
