What happened to Texas?! Sharia Cities and Illegal memes… In Texas?!

This is just a heads up from yours truly. We have a problem with Texas. Yup. The state that likes to pride itself on fierce independence and the cowboy spirit is making some dubious moves. From legal action on memes and a slew of other bizarre actions, we’re over here asking the question: What happened to Texas? Here’s some of what’s been going on. Talk about all hat and no cattle? That’s Texas today and we wanted to let you know.

Want to go to jail over a meme? Texas is cool with that. WTF?!

Anyone want a Sharia City in Texas? Anyone think that’s a stellar idea? Any potential downside here?

  1. Thomas Jones says:

Don’t count Texas out yet, not by a long shot. They may not be as buff as the 1800s, but they still have those cannon. One could say, a plethora of cannon. The Governor and representatives are pushing a bill to disallow a community from implementing sharia law. It’s not really necessary because the US constitution disallows any sort of law based on religious practice. Even so, having a state law on the books makes it simpler for the governor to govern, and more efficiently reign in any rogue entities.
wikipedia has an article on the federal constitution and some states: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ban_on_sharia_law
That said, some rogue communities in the US may abandon secular law and try to enforce their religious law upon others, but the victims of it would be within their constitutional right to prevent it. Protection from fanatical religious laws of every kind makes me happy. (so do cannon, but that’s another story)
