Let’s not get bogged down in tech and stats and all kinds of blah, blah. Let’s talk about Nintendo Direct and what we liked. That’s it. What are the stand outs? What are the games we think we’ll be playing on the Switch? Here we go.
Not going to lie. I don’t need more than that. Just give me some more adventures from Hyrule. With a storyline that works better than most Marvel movies, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is on list to buy.
Honestly, there’s not a lot to get excited about here. For whatever reason the whole thing kinda left me flat. Are people stoked about some of these other titles?
Couldn’t care less about Madden. Just not my jam. Hasn’t been for ages. But hang on a second. Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection? Mayhaps… Turn based though. Ouch.
Chillin’ by the Fire might be on the list too. Who’s ready to build and maintain a fire? Anyone? Just me?

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment – A canonical tale set in Hyrule’s past, leading to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 this winter.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection – A new adventure featuring twin Rathalos. Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
Madden NFL 26 – The legendary football series with explosive action. Releases on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 14, 2025.
Just Dance 2026 Edition – Features 40 new tracks and a new co-op Party Game Mode. Releases on Nintendo Switch on October 14, 2025.
Yakuza Kiwami & Yakuza Kiwami 2 – The beloved Yakuza series continues. Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on November 13, 2025.
Apex Legends – Strategic squad play with a new season, Showdown, optimized for Switch 2 with enhanced resolution and framerate. Releases on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 5, 2025. Includes a Legendary Pathfinder skin, “P.A.T.H.,” for players logging in until September 16, 2025.
Cronos: New Dawn – A brand-new third-person survival horror IP where players survive time-bending nightmares. Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on September 5, 2025.
Octopath Traveler 0 – A new entry in the HD-2D RPG series, described as a prequel focusing on restoration and retribution. Coming to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4, 2025.
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales – An HD-2D action RPG set in the fantasy world of Philabiledia. Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater – A remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 by Konami, without Hideo Kojima’s involvement. Coming to Nintendo Switch 2, release date not specified in the showcase.
