Sadly, Loni Anderson has passed away. The actress was just shy of her 80th birthday. The memorials are being posted all across the internet. It’s been a rough couple of weeks for people who grew up in the 1980’s.

Let’s take some time to talk about Loni Anderson and her breakout role on the sitcom WKRP. She was wonderful in the part of the smartest person in the room. It was a fantastic twist. The bombshell blonde who usually was written as a braindead bimbo was literally the character with the most smarts. It made for great comedy and Loni Anderson was the perfect choice for the role. She made the most out of every scene. Here’s some of our favorite Loni Anderson moments.

I should also add that there was no special interest group who demanded that the smoke show blonde be portrayed with such intelligence. This wasn’t ‘woke’. It was just funnier. It was a better choice for the show. The writers were subverting expectations way before it was demanded. It was funnier that way too!
