Protect the show. I think that’s the mantra going through the South Park creator’s heads. The two guys who do heavy lifting on South Park, Mat and Tray? I think that’s right. Well, they’re making some choices and doing a good job at protecting the show that is the foundation for everything good in their lives. They’re taking shot at people on the right. Okay. That’s cool.

Here’s my guess as to what happened. South Park just signed a huge deal with Paramount. They guys in suits at Paramount showed South Park the numbers and the demographics of who was watching the show and the trends for the future. I’m thinking that not enough people on the left were watching the show. That’s it. South Park is now course correcting to protect the show and the future of the show. You get more money if more people watch. You can make more joke when everyone is a potential target. That’s just smart.

So, South Park is making fun of the political figures on the Right. Okay. Have fun with that. It’s just business. And when truly ridiculous crap happens? We’ll count on South Park to call it out and make us laugh. It’s really funny show.
