Well, what do we have here? Greg Gutfeld was just on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. So, what in the world is going on here? I’ll tell you my guess: Jimmy Fallon and crew just made a really good move. They booked the host of the number one show in late night, Greg Gutfeld. He’s the undeniable champ. And that, will get people talking.
This from Fox News: In 2025, “Gutfeld!” averaged 3.1 million viewers through July 20, compared to 1.9 million for CBS’ outgoing “Late Show.” During that same time period, ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” averaged 1.5 million, NBC’s “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon” averaged 1.1 million, and NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” managed 751,000.
So, if you’re Fallon and you just watched Colbert get cancelled, you want to remind your audience that you aren’t like that. Jimmy and staff probably want to show that the Tonight Show isn’t some political machine like Kimmel or Colbert. That’s what you want to show anyway. And what’s a great way to do that? Book Greg Gutfeld. Let people see that there’s no animosity.
From where I’m sitting, the idea worked! Last night, Greg Gutfeld was on the Tonight show, and it was very entertaining! That was a fun segment! Just a good conversation with a bunch of laughs (Greg did manage to get in a plug for his game show, but that’s how this shit is supposed to work! HA!) It was a good bit of television.
And guess what’s happening today? People are talking about Greg Gutfeld on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Just like they wanted. It’s a win-win. We doff our caps to all involved. Kudos!
I’ll be willing to wager that GG’s appearance will be the highest ratings that Fallon gets all year!
I think that’s a good bet! Imagine they got a huge bump! Might be too late tho for Jimmy and gang. For the record, I hear Jimmy is a good dude. His show should have been way bigger. Oh well.
First time I’ve watched Fallon in years and I’ve got to say that the show was pretty lame until Greg came out.
That Greg fellow is an entertaining lad! LOL
