Okay, I’m going to be ‘that guy’. Ready? I know. It’s a drag but we can’t just ignore reality. Here I go. Yesterday, the Cracker Barrel people announced they were switching back to the original logo. That’s certainly a good move. We all agree. But is it enough? Not even close. The company is still at a crossroad.
But… as someone (yours truly) might have said in a video: Is Cracker Barrel’s problem just the logo? Is the restaurant changing the interior? And most importantly: What about the food?! The food and the cost of the food? And are they just slapping items in a microwave?
Also? What’s the deal with all the DEI and Pride stuff? Cracker Barrel just wasted millions on a failed rebrand. Now they’re changing the logo back. Neat. Are they going to address the core issues or do we all just sit back and enjoy hilarious memes as cracker barrel self-destructs?
Hint: It’s not just the logo. The logo was the least of it.
Everyone with a brain knew this wasn’t a good idea.
But as the old saying goes: Not my circus. Not my monkeys. Or in this case: Not my crackers, not my barrel. My thoughts are with everyone who works for the once mighty Cracker Barrel. And also, the people who make the memes. Hope it works out for everybody. But until the people in charge of address the real problems at Cracker Barrel? It’s just going to be the memes that get the attention.
