It’s a good news, bad news kind of post. The AI revolution is marching on. Musicians are the hardest hit right now. These AI cover songs are pretty darn good. I’m not going to lie. How are musicians going to compete with this? Once upon a time, a talented group of people would have an idea. Like ‘Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon’ but in a reggae style. (That’s a real thing by the way and it’s awesome. Dub Side of the Moon) Now? You just input the idea into AI and a few seconds later? You get something like ‘I wish you were here’ as a funk cover. And it’s good! Listen.
At least the YouTube channel that posts these is called “Fake Music”. That’s honest. The only ‘talent’ you need is imagination. What if I took song ‘X’ and put it in the style of ‘Y’? And it almost always works. Check this one out. I’m legit tapping my foot as I type.
The cover songs and interpretations will continue. Things will get interesting as everything is ‘re-imagined’, originals are always going to be the trick. Humans are still needed for that. Some channels are making inroads into comedy; however it feels like the funny stuff is safe… for now. There are tons of dirty ditties out there for sure.
Holy crap! These are really good! I love me some funk and DAMN! I’m blown away by these covers. That last ditty was too funny. This AI stuff is fascinating and scary. Original music will always be the catalyst for these interpretations and that it’s saving grace. Thank goodness

Had a bit of time finding a tame version of the dirty songs. That channel has some doozies! But if you’re listening at work? There’s gonna be a lot of questions. A LOT.
