Not sure about what the weather is in your neck of the woods, but over here at TLP world headquarters the sun is shining, the birds are chirping and it’s pretty damn awesome. I got a great pick for you this week. It’s the Bee Gees on Sunday Jams. People still underestimate the Brothers Gibb and their contribution to the music world. The Bee Gees body of work and hits is incredible. And when you start talking about harmonies? Forget about it. Good luck finding better. But let’s save that discussion for another day. It’s a beautiful Sunday. Here’s The Bee Gees for Sunday Jams.
Heard this one driving home from Nashville last weekend. Almost wrecked the car, I was singing so hard. Hell yeah. Then hit Buccees for some beaver nuggets. Hell yeah.
Let’s finish this off with yet another all-time great. Absolute classic. Some great covers of this one too.
Bonus. Here’s the Bee Gees on a talk show. Just being awesome and there’s no studio tricks. No sweetening the mix in post. Just 3 brothers who can sing like nobody’s business. The Brothers Gibb. Holy smoke. Check out the chorus. My goodness!
Michael, What a pick for Sunday Jams. I went to see The Bee Gees at the height of their Saturday Night Fever fame, but I came to hear the songs that you picked plus Words and a few others, not the disco stuff. I will say How Deep Is You Love is their best song on that album. Their harmonies were unbelievable and effortless. I just watched that video of them singing acapella two nights ago. How fabulous was that.
I have few more songs for you to your listening pleasure. Life of Ease-The Helltones
Hey Na Na!- Galactic ft David Shaw. New Orleans funk at it’s finest.
Stone Rollin’- Raphael Saadiq A Neo Soul classic
I hope you like them. Thanks for your great taste in music as always.
Woohoo! Glad you liked the Jams! And I’m jealous you got to see them live! Wow! I hope Barry Gibb can soak up some adoration. He’s the last one left and he wrote so many great songs! People will look back at the Bee Gees and be shocked at the body of work. It’s staggering. Am a fan. Once upon a time I wasn’t. Then I got smart. LOL!
