The Witcher: Season 4 trailer. Netflix still has a problem.

Oh, Netflix. Look at what you’ve done with The Witcher. Here’s the trailer for season 4. Take a look and we can break it down. As a writer/producer for TV, I have thoughts. Also, I’m not in the habit of criticizing shows without offering up a ‘fix’. A way forward. So, I’ll do that as well.

Here’s the trailer for Netflix’s The Witcher season 4. They are trying to put Geralt back in the spotlight a bit. That’s at least some kind of move in the right direction. It’s way too late though.

Okay, so… no. Not a fan. Even with Morpheus in there. Not going to get me back as a viewer. The damage to the show is just too much. I’ve read the books and truly enjoyed them. This show is just too far from what made the books work. Yes, Ciri has a large role to play. No, the show isn’t about Ciri. That’s where they lost everybody. The books, the games and the show are called ‘The Witcher’ for a reason. That’s the big note for Netflix. So, how to move forward?

Reboot. Start over. Take a year off and start over. You have the sets, the costumes and the production teams. Keep what’s his name as Geralt or recast the whole thing. I don’t care. Netflix, you have a writing problem. Hire a new showrunner. Preferably someone who loves the Witcher character and books. Then just start over. No one likes this current show and it’s too late to save it.

Here’s Gary’s take from Nerdrotic. Always great content!
