Mr. Tom Petty was born on Oct. 20th. So, I thought we could pay homage to one of the very best American singer songwriters to ever do it. I won’t even start to make my case for Petty. I’m not here to lay down the musical gauntlet. I’m here to listen to the good stuff on a Sunday morning. So, let’s do that. Here’s Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on birthday edition of Sunday Jams.
I love this one and it’s so underappreciated it’s crazy.
Here’s another hidden gem
There’s just so many incredibly great tunes from this guy. These are ones I picked for today. Hope you liked the Jams and Happy Birthday Tom.
Michael, Thank you for this wonderful Sunday Jams honoring Tom Petty’s birthday and his work as one of the finest American songwriters.
Room At The Top is a wonderful and personal song, which he acknowledged he wrote during a difficult time in his personal life. You can feel it in the lyrics and his singing.
Walls is one of my absolute favorites. I play it all time. Such an amazing song and I love the lyrics. A definite hidden gem.
A Face In The Crowd is a terrific song off one of my favorite albums.
What a special Sunday Jams you put together. You did an amazing job picking some fantastic songs in a vast catalog of amazing work by the great Tom Petty. Boy I miss him. Happy Birthday Tom. Thank you for your great taste in music as always Michael!
So glad you liked the jams! I heard Room at the Top a couple years ago. Had zero clue it even existed. To say I was blown away is the understatement of the decade! HA! It’s incredible how much great music that guy is responsible for. Just amazed.
