This is just completely perplexing. Rand Paul was on Tim Pools podcast and decided to start opining about Social Security. Firing up some talking points that instantly squander any kind of goodwill he may have built up over the last few months. Rand and Tim hit on the same talking points that insure you’re the leper of the bbq. Stuff like: Social Security is running out of money! There are not enough people paying in! And my favorite: People shouldn’t retire until they’re 70!
All of this talk is the biggest self-inflicted political wound you could give yourself. Why would Rand Paul do this again and again? Is it some subconscious self-destruct button for his political career? Can someone wrangle ol’ Rand? He’s a smart guy. Why does he always do this? There is a reason Social Security is the 3rd rail of politics: It’s infuriating. It’s theft on a massive scale and it enrages people like myself.
So, now it’s my turn to opine on Social Security. Ready? Stop stealing the money, DC. And if there isn’t enough money in the Social Security fund? Have a fucking yard sale. Cut other programs. You never hear about that solution, do you? It’s always “People will have to wait till they’re 88 to retire now”. Nope. Wrong answer. YOU are going to have to stop spending MY money on stupid shit and giving it to people who aren’t citizens.
Social Security is a scam. Plain and simple. It was invented by politician to steal your money under the pretense they would give it back to you slowly once you reached a certain age. The whole Ponzi scheme started in 1935. They started taking money and said they’d dribble it back to people after they reached the age of 65. The problem? Most people only lived to be 62 back in the day. It’s a scam.
So here we are all these years later and the government has never stopped taking the money from our checks. Once it goes to DC? Lord only knows what kind on USAID or NGO it gets wasted on or shoved into some whore politicians offshore account. All I know is this: You owe us the money you took. Everyone is very sorry the people in DC lied for decades. Very sad. Now give me my money back. We had a deal. And no, Rand, the solution isn’t to wait till we’re all dead. We’re hip to that scam now too.
Now go get your shine box, shut up about Social Security and do something that actually helps the American Taxpayer. You know, the people who make this whole country keep spinning.
