Psycho Rampage Movies..Just For Fun

So last week, hopefully you got to see the insane-looking teaser for Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die, the Gore Verbinski sci-fi comedy about a time traveler returning from the evil AI-laden dystopian future to recruit current day folks to save the world. If nothing else, Sam Rockwell in the lead of should be worth the ticket, but we have to wait until February.

Since we have a little downtime before the entertaining the masses time of Thanksgiving to Christmas, we need a little weird senseless and totally fun…and perhaps a teensy bit violent…entertainment to safely let out it all out.

Here are some psycho rampage films to enjoy during the final two months of another crazy year:

Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc

Have you read Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga Chainsaw Man yet? Have you seen the anime? Well, get crackin’, because it is crazy fun. The long-suffering, love and food-starved Denji, an abused devil hunter turned devil-who hunts devils meets yet another girl he loves. Unfortunately, she is literally a bombshell..and the Chainsaw Man style craziness begins. Now in theatres, this movie’s latest Rotten Tomatoes score is at 95 percent critics…98 percent fans. That’s not an easy feat, but nothing is for Denji.

Boy Kills World

This movie came out last year and flew under the radar of the mainstream reboot world. It is another dystopian sci-fi action comedy where Bill Skarsgård plays Boy, a mute with the best inner voice (H. Jon Benjamin from Archer) narrating the film. The film follows Boy’s quest to gain revenge after his family was killed when he was young by a tyrannical overlord and her family. He’s had some time to get trained by a Shaman in the martial arts, so pretty much anyone and everyone who gets in his way is sorry they did.

Hardcore Henry

Going back about ten years, this first-person POV action sci-fi had about half the viewers loving the first person shooter video game feel and others not-so-much. Yet, it is a fun and wild watch at least once. We follow the story through the eyes of “Henry”, a recently revived-from-the-dead man with cyborg limbs and no memories of his past, going after those who abducted his wife. There are almost too many plot twists in this one to explain, but the first-person fights throughout the film are a blast. Also you gotta give acting props to Sharlto Copley in the many incarnations of Jimmy.

Guns Akimbo

Whatever your opinion of Daniel Radcliffe, he is actually really funny in this movie. Simple plot, with some crazy carnage results. Radcliffe is a boring video game developer who somehow ends up as part of a real-life death-match game…and he has a pair of guns attached to his hands. That’s all you need to know, because you’ll find yourself laughing at things you really shouldn’t.

And finally….for those who don’t want to go back to work…

Mayhem

This is my personal favorite on the list. Steven Yeun and Samara Weaving star as two people with have some well-deserved corporate workplace grudges…but it is happening in a high-rise being taken over by an inhibitions-killing virus. It gets oh, so very ugly..and at times hilarious.

I hope you have a pleasant week, and avoid the craziness of the real world. However, you have my full permission to take in a little psycho mindless fun in the make believe world of movie magic.
