Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2 trailer. Did Netflix learn their lesson?

Here’s the trailer for season 2 of the Netflix live action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Take a look and we’ll pick up after. How about that. I want to see if you notice what I noticed. Hint: It was a big issue for a lot of Netflix shows. HA!

It’s the costumes. The wardrobe. Look at the clip below. That crap looks like they JUST bought it. Not a smudge of dirt. You mean to tell me that these people are living some frontier life, and the clothes look THAT clean? I can’t. You have killed all believability.

Netflix loves them some clean costumes. Check out the Witcher season one. Sometimes the Witcher looks a little ‘Dirty’. But just look at the still they used from season one. LOL! Is it his first day? Dude just came out of the Witcher Macys with some brand-new attire.

I only bring this up because it amuses me. As a writer in LA and NY for a lot of years, this is the kind of thing that would drive me bonkers. It’s already hard enough to write a good story and dialogue. Keep everything paced correctly. (Netflix has GIANT issues with the writing on most shows BTW) But why self-sabotage with wardrobe that instantly takes the viewer out of the reality of the story?

Of all the fixes that Avatar: The Last Airbender needs, the wardrobe is the easiest. Looks like they might have addressed that one. As for the writing? Who knows. I’m not planning on watching after the season one debacle. Oof. Season 2 comes out in 2026.
